Disney has released a set of 'Disney V.I.P. dolls' that include Hannah Montana (based on Miley Cyrus' character) and 'Wizards of Waverly Place' character Alex (based on Selena Gomez). There are other dolls from popular shows, but it is curious why Disney chose to do a Miley doll now, especially since the show has ended. That is right, Miley has ended her association with Disney, but Disney is still cashing in on Ms. Cyrus.
Curiously missing from the group of dolls is a Demi Lovato 'Sonny with a Chance' doll. The excuse is that she left the show. If that can fly, why would Disney still hang their hats on a Miley Cyrus doll, when Hannah Montana has ceased production for about a year? Perhaps it is because Miley (or Hannah Montana) sells. Despite all the bad publicity surrounding Miley (and the good stuff, too) Disney knows that can still cash in.
The question is will parents run to the store to buy their daughters 'Hannah Montana' and 'Wizards of Waverly Place' dolls?
